Digital transformation & customer experience
Large-scale transformation that modernises the core and measurably improves how customers are served — the thread through three decades of telecom delivery.
Digital Transformation & AI Strategy · Former Telecom CIO · PhD Researcher
For three decades I built and transformed the technology behind national telecom operators — and the customer experiences millions of subscribers relied on. Today I advise leaders on AI and digital strategy, and research how machines can teach the way a great mentor does.
In the boardroom
Through The AA Incorporated — my technology-strategy consultancy — I work with executives and boards navigating AI and digital change, from first principles to enterprise rollout.

Turning AI from a buzzword into an operating advantage that fits your systems, your people and your risk appetite.
CGEIT-certified governance frameworks that let you move fast on AI without losing control of accountability, fairness or trust.
Standing up the architecture practice and operating model that makes change repeatable — functions I have built from scratch for global operators.
In the lab
My doctoral work in the CIRCLE Lab at Toronto Metropolitan University sits at the confluence of technology, ethics and education. It asks a deceptively simple question: can a machine teach the way a great mentor does — reading not just what a learner does, but how they feel?

Atif Ahmad is a digital transformation and AI strategy advisor, a former telecom CIO, and a PhD researcher in computer science (AI) at Toronto Metropolitan University’s CIRCLE Lab. He is the founder of The AA Incorporated and has three decades of experience building technology for national carriers including Mobilink, Freedom Mobile and stc.
The Emotion-Modulated Programming (EMP) model is the framework at the centre of Atif Ahmad’s doctoral research — a basis for affect-aware tutoring systems that adapt their teaching to a learner’s emotional state in real time, supporting rather than supplanting the learner’s own reasoning.
Through his consultancy, The AA Incorporated, Atif advises executives and boards on AI strategy and enterprise integration, digital transformation and customer experience, technology governance and ethics (he is CGEIT-certified), and enterprise and business architecture.
